Welcome to the Mai Speech Therapy website. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website located at https://maispeechtherapy.com and our speech-language pathology services. By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website, scheduling a consultation, or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you are a parent or guardian using this website on behalf of a minor, you accept these Terms on their behalf.
2. Description of Services
Mai Speech Therapy provides pediatric speech-language pathology services, including but not limited to:
- Speech and language evaluations and assessments
- Individual speech therapy sessions (in-home and teletherapy)
- Parent coaching and consultation
- Free initial phone consultations
All services are provided by licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologists in the state of Florida. Services are available to families in our designated service areas across South Florida.
The information provided on our website, including resources, articles, and developmental milestones, is intended for general informational purposes only and should not be considered medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for specific concerns about your child's development.
3. Appointments & Scheduling
Appointments can be scheduled through our website, by phone, or by email. By scheduling an appointment, you agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information about your child
- Arrive on time for scheduled sessions (for in-home visits, ensure a safe and appropriate therapy environment)
- Notify us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel an appointment
4. Payment & Insurance
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in writing. We accept the following forms of payment:
- Credit/debit cards
- Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards
- Cash or check
Mai Speech Therapy is a private-pay practice. We may provide superbills (detailed receipts) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. We do not guarantee insurance reimbursement, as this depends on your individual plan.
Session rates are communicated prior to the start of services and may be adjusted with reasonable notice. Any fee changes will be communicated in writing at least 30 days in advance.
5. Cancellation & No-Show Policy
We understand that unexpected situations arise. We ask that you adhere to the following cancellation policy:
- 24-hour notice:Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment
- Late cancellations:Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session rate
- No-shows: Missed appointments without prior notice may be charged the full session rate
- Frequent cancellations: Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may result in a discussion about whether to continue services or modify the schedule
We reserve the right to waive cancellation fees on a case-by-case basis for genuine emergencies or illness.
6. Teletherapy Services
For teletherapy sessions, you agree to:
- Provide a quiet, distraction-free environment for your child during sessions
- Ensure a stable internet connection and appropriate device (computer, tablet, or phone with camera)
- Be available nearby during sessions to assist as needed, especially for younger children
- Understand that teletherapy is conducted through HIPAA-compliant platforms and that recording sessions is not permitted without written consent
7. Limitation of Liability
Mai Speech Therapy provides services with the highest standard of care. However, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, as every child's progress depends on numerous factors including severity of the disorder, frequency of sessions, and carryover of strategies at home.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mai Speech Therapy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services. Our total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the fees paid for the specific services giving rise to the claim.
The information on our website is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantees about the completeness, reliability, or suitability of the information provided.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, graphics, logos, images, and design elements — is the property of Mai Speech Therapy or its content creators and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without express written permission.
9. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate the therapeutic relationship at any time with reasonable notice. We may discontinue services if:
- The client's goals have been met and discharge is appropriate
- There is a pattern of missed appointments or non-compliance
- Payment obligations are not met
- Continuing services would not be in the best interest of the child
Upon termination, we will provide referrals to other qualified professionals if appropriate and assist with a smooth transition.
10. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes that affect existing service agreements, we will provide direct notice.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the courts of Palm Beach County, Florida.
